Kindness. Something we all need more of. Something the world lacks. Something Christians are called to exhibit but often don’t.
As Christians, shouldn’t we be building people up and not tearing them down?
What kind of a message does it send when Christians are overly critical or pick apart others publicly?
We live in a culture that gives a multitude of voices to the already privileged while silencing those who have none. Why not use your voice to speak kindness and love instead of tearing down?
Let me make myself clear, I’m not perfect, I’ve made mistakes, and I’ve lacked wisdom and been impulsive on Social Media sites before. This is why I speak words of caution.
Christians, we represent Christ when we speak. When we hit publish, the world sees our words, and it judges not just us, but it collectively judges Jesus.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t have an opinion, I’m suggesting that before we post that comment, or write that review, we consider who we say we follow.
It takes seconds to build someone up or to tear them down. In a hurting world, we have a God given responsibility to care for each other.
Social Media can be a great tool to reach people. If, we use our voices wisely. Let's show the world we live our faith through our words and our actions. Let's be thoughtful when we post or write a review.
Our words either make or break those we interact with. This world is broken enough already, surely we don't need to add to it?
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
