Yup. That's right. You're reading a blog post written by a high school drop out. Why did I drop out? A few reasons. Mostly because it was bloody awful. Not the entire time, but a test first year pretty much wrecked my entire experience. I'd always loved multiple-choice tests so when we were given one on the second day, I filled it out with gusto. Little did I know it was a class placement test. So, they moved a now anxiety-ridden and incredibly insecure me to another class filled with the smart girls most of which I'd never met before. They may have been smarter, but some were nasty. And a lot were into some dodgy things thirteen-year-old girls should never be into. Not only was I out of my depth with the level of school work, I'd also been introduced to spiteful girls who were ruthless bullies. Needless to say after six months of thinking I was in with the 'cool kids', they made my life miserable. When I could, I stayed home from school or when I couldn't avoid it, I'd hide in the library and read. For the most part, my first year of high school passed by in a blur of tears and great books. From Les Miserables to The Shining, I read everything I could when I could. By the time I was fifteen I was beginning to find patterns in books and had started guessing the plot twists in movies. That was about the time that I decided I wanted to create stories that weren't predictable. And so far, despite having a lacking education, I've written twenty-eight books a lot combining romance and a lot of plot twists I don't even see coming! Desperados has been my first ever enemies to lovers romance. And I'm having SO much fun writing it. As a matter of fact, I'm loving this story so much and have made so much progress I'm now looking at releasing Desperados late this year. I'm so excited about this series, and can't wait to share the next two covers with you. I'll leave you with a snippet, so I can go back to writing. This is Mahalia's first introduction to the resident camp bully, Aurora. Until next time, Thanks for your support. Sarah XX P.S. I also wanted to share this pic from Instagram and these lovely reviews I've picked up on The Relevance Series recently. "This young adult dystopian novel about neuro diversity is one of the best titles I've read this year...and I read 1-3 books a day usually. I'm so caught up in Mallory and Cristan's story. I can't wait to see what Cristan's back story is!! I highly recommend this book!!" "Loved every second of this book! Well written story line and characters! Can’t wait to read on and see what happens!" "This is a great series. The characters are so lifelike. The storyline is so real. A world such as this could indeed exist! One of my top 10!" For fans of THE 100, AN EMBER IN THE ASHES and THE HUNGER GAMES comes an explosive enemies to lovers dystopian romance.
💀 .99 cent pre-order 💀 (Unedited) Excerpt Mahalia Still sleep dazed, I blink and rub at my eyes until a scowling face comes into focus. For a second, I think it’s Zayde come to wake me, but it’s a girl. Her blonde hair is cut ear length, and there’s an ugly scar across her throat. But it’s the weapons strapped to her body and the utter contempt in her icy blue eyes that makes me bolt upright. I smash my head into the bottom of the bunk, and wince. “Get out of my bed,” she spits. I scramble to get out, an apology on my lips, but she grabs my arm and wrenches me out of the bunk. I smash into the side of my bunk and let out a yelp as she sends me crashing onto the floor. Pain tearing through me, I try to get to my feet; but she’s so angry, she wrenches me up again. I have no time to react before she punches me hard. I double over, tears stinging my eyes as she leans down at hisses in my ear. “You’re in my world now, sweetie. Better learn the rules.” I slump onto the floor, gasping, and trying to stop myself from crying. Somehow manage to get to my feet. “I’m sorry,” I choke out. She rolls her eyes. “Touch my stuff again and you will be,” she mutters. I back away and manage to stuff my boots and socks into my pack. I don’t bother saying another word, just avoid looking at her as I limp out of the barracks and outside. Tears still stinging my eyes I blink rapidly as I take in the dozens of new faces all streaming into the camp. I swallow hard, and turn my back on them, desperate to get away before someone sees me and attacks me just for being here. I sniff and walk across the grass as quickly as my bare feet allow for and don’t hesitate as I push open the gate. When I’m outside in the open and away from prying eyes, I lean against the fence, and try to hold in the tears threatening to fall. My chest is shuddering and I’m sucking in breaths in a vain attempt not to cry. But I can't and I won't. Zayde already thinks I’m weak. And I’m not about to prove him right. 💀💀💀 DESPERADOS is book one in a three-part series, VIGILANTE CAMP, and contains bucket loads of action, a splattering of intrigue and a blistering enemies to lovers slow burn romance. Due to language, content and violence this book is advised for readers 17+.
